ARTISM
INTRODUCTION
Netanya Castillo
ARTISM is a large-scale public art exhibition open to everyone, held by SAMC once a year for three days (scheduled right after the reading break each fall). The exhibition invites students and staff to submit their art to be displayed across campus. Together we create “unfamiliar”spectacles in familiar surroundings, making our everyday spaces more diverse, dynamic inclusive, and harmonious.
The sign up is now open through an online system (scan the QR code on the poster to sign up). No professional technique required, and there are no restrictions on the subject matter, form, media, or size of artwork. The exhibition site covers almost all public spaces on campus, including the Back 40. Artists are free to choose wherever is appropriate for them to set up their works and perform. Submit your work now! Let’s “cover” the campus with our artwork!
The exhibition is open to all students and staff from November 13 to 15. The first day will feature all physical and virtual art displays (painting, photography, film, etc.), while the second and third days will focus on all staging performances and interactive art (music, dance, theatre, performance art, etc.). Admission is free for all. We welcome everyone to participate and visit!
