Mars' Hill is a student publication of Trinity Western University, funded by student fees through the student government. Mars’ Hill seeks to be a professional and relevant student publication, reflecting and challenging the TWU community, while intentionally addressing local, national, and international issues.

Mission to Mars

The mission of Mars’ Hill, as the official student magazine of Trinity Western University, is to inform and entertain its readers, cultivate awareness of issues concerning the TWU community, and provide a forum for purposeful, constructive discussion among its members in accordance with the Community Covenant, Statement of Faith, and Core Values of the university.

Editorial Policy

Mars’ Hill encourages submissions and letters to the Editor. These must be signed and are due one week prior to publication. Mars’ Hill reserves the right to edit submissions for style, brevity, and compatibility with the Mission Statement, Statement of Faith, the Community Covenant, and the Core Values of the university. Submissions can be delivered to the Mars’ Hill office in Douglas Centre or sent to marshill@gmail.com. Anonymous authorship of any material may be granted at the discretion of the Editor-in-Chief. Opinions expressed in Mars’ Hill belong to the individual authors and do not necessarily reflect those of the editorial board, Trinity Western University, its officials, or its Student Association.

    Hey, I’m Katie! I get to lead the amazing Mars’ Hill team as Editor-in-Chief, bringing stories to life and sparking meaningful conversations. I thrive in creative chaos, love magazine, and feel most alive in the mountains, by the ocean, or anywhere wild.

  • MANAGING EDITOR

    I’m Sadie, the Managing Editor of Mars’ Hill and a firm believer that pancakes are the superior breakfast. I help keep things running smoothly, edit articles, and love giving students a space to share their voices.

  • CHIEF COPY EDITOR

    Hi, I’m Mari! I’m the Copy Editor, which means I spend way too much time thinking about grammar. I have 58 plants, an English degree, and zero driving skills. One day, I hope to write a grammar for an undocumented language!

    HELLO!!! I’m Rachel, the Visual Editor and a fourth-year Art + Design student. I love anything visually striking, have survived 335 movies in a single year, and (somehow) kept a plant alive. Follow me on Letterboxd @rachelkehler!

    Hey friends, I’m Netanya! I edit the Community Living section and am a full-time Biblical Studies MA student. As an ENFP, I thrive on deep conversations, dreaming of inspiring students as a future professor. Also, I have a cat named Kitty—original, I know.

    Hi!! I’m Morley, the photographer for Mars’ Hill. I love capturing the essence of people and stories through photography. My parents named me after a CBC radio character, and yes, I grew up in Alberta—yeehaw!

    Hi babes, I’m Stochia, the Illustrator for Mars’ Hill. I love drawing, painting, sewing, and making my own patterns. Tennis is fun, but mostly because of the cute outfits. Oh, and I have seven siblings—chaos is my normal.

    Hey! I’m Success, a first-year Media & Communications student from Nigeria, now in Ontario. I love dancing, storytelling, and bringing creative energy to Mars’ Hill.

    I’m Amir, the Public Relations Manager at Mars’ Hill. I make sure we’re seen, heard, and celebrated. I have an MBA in marketing, love playing badminton and golf, and believe that nothing beats a good worship session at chapel.
